Talking to Farmers - Cattle Fitters Edition

We took the opportunity while at Canadian Western Agribition this year to find a different kind of farmer for our Talking to Farmers feature. It wasn’t hard to round up enough cowfolk to cover some of the basics of showing cattle. And, between being asked to be filmed and starting the interview, many of the cattle fitters quickly pampered their animals with a hair crew to prepare for the shot.

Our interview starts off with fairly innocent questions, as they always do (like, “How many items do you have in your cattle fitting bucket“) and quickly transitions into “What’s the craziest thing you’ve ever seen at a cattle show?” — oh, some of the coy looks we receive from that one!

As you likely know, the Grey Cup was held in Regina, Saskatchewan this year, not long after Agribition. We’d be contrite had we not also capitalized on that opportunity for a question. Let’s see how many cattle fitters are football fans…
