Farmers Share Social Media Success

by

Editors Note (Shaun Haney): Many of you know that I am a big believer in Twitter and other social media tools as a powerful communication tool for yourself and your business.  Social media is a great cost effective way for agriculturalists to tell the story of agriculture to the masses.  A twitter friend of mine, Michele Payn-Knoper posted this story on her blog, Cause Matters.  She talked to four farmers about the benefits of social media and why they use it.  If you want to get involved in social media check out my pages.

Ever had a cow lick your video camera? Wonder why a farmer tweets? Want to know how the agricultural community is REALLY using tools such as Twitter, Facebook and blogs?  Take a look at any of these quick videos on the Cause Matters Corp. Facebook Fan page – I can’t say it any better than these farmers and agribusiness folks do.

In the past couple of weeks, I’ve traveled from coast to coast keynoting, as well as  providing agricultural advocacy and social media workshops. The people who I meet are truly the greatest reward of my work. I hope  you enjoy them as much as I do and heed their advice that it’s time for agriculture to get in gear in social media.

A special thanks to Michele and all of her hard work to tell the story of agriculture.  If you are interested in using social media as a tool for your self or your business, check out my pages to get started.  Or just give me  a call and I’ll give you a hand.
