CropWeek 2010 – Bruce Scherr – Competitiveness in the Global Food Market for Pulses

Dr. Bruce Scherr is the Chairman of the Board and CEO of Informa Economics.  He has been with the company since 1987 in several executive capacities including President and CEO. He is based in Memphis, USA.

It is definitely no secret that Saskatchewan is increasingly focused on pulses.  The pulse meeting was packed packed with producers as the picture above shows.  Saskatchewan farmers made money in the pulse industry last year and the expectation is that acres will increase again this year.  With the continued growth in Asia and India the pulse industry in Canada looks to continue to develop markets for pulse farmers.
