Lentil Production & Pricing Update June 2010 - SaskCan Pulse Trading

During this past winter there was no bigger story in Western Canada than the hysteria around lentils.  Saskatchewan is the lentil king in Canada and has also received an abundance of wet weather since early April.  The lentil market is known to swing in big ways up and down but seems to be holding relatively stable considering all the weather issues in Saskatchewan.  I have definitely been wondering why?

At the Farm Progress Show in Regina, I talked to Randy Swan from Saskcan Pulse Trading about the lentil market and whether or not the wet weather throughout Saskatchewan will have an affect on the seeded acre numbers and prices heading into the fall.
