Travis Toews Intends to Make the Canadian Cattle Industry Internationally Competitive and Profitable Again

Travis Toews CCA

To say that Travis Toews is willing to take on challenges is putting things mildly. In fact if I was him I would say goodbye to my cows back home and get the frequent flyer program revved up, especially if his reign as President of CCA is anything like his predecessors. Travis is the new president of the CCA and has some big ideas to combat some of the industry’s big challenges.

Residing in Grand Prairie, Travis ranches and also supports the political needs of the industry. CCA needs great leadership and Travis definitely has the support of Past President Brad Wilderman.

I have never met Travis before last week but he seems to fill the role nicely.  I have the utmost respect for the people that try and make a difference for the industry. Where people go wrong serving on producer boards is when they try to affect change for the benefit of the their own operation and not the industry. By all accounts Travis is definitely in for the right reasons and is committed to making the industry better for all producers. Now its up to him to get the change in the industry that he desires.

I interviewed Travis Toews at the international livestock congress in Calgary last week. My intention of the interview was to introduce Travis to myself and the audience and get a better understanding of his intentions and aspirations for the industry.  You be the judge of what your initial perceptions are of the CCA’s new leadership.
