Earlier this week we ran a story on solar energy project in Ontario taking place on many farms from the perspective of Saturn Power (a manufacturer). In the summer I visited the farm of Steve Twynstra who has invested in solar power and is selling it back to the power grid in Ontario.
Steve told me that it was a great investment opportunity which has allowed him to get a satisfactory rate of return. Steve also talks about the McGuinty government’s move to alter the power rate paid to some of the farmers. Steve gives his opinion on why it makes sense to sell the power back to the grid instead of to power your maintenance shop.
