Key Trends in Canadian Agriculture for 2011 - Rob Hannam

by

This week I was reading themonthly edition of the Synthesis – Network E-Newsletter and I was intrigued.  Not only was it the first list for what will happen in 2011 in agriculture, but it also was quite good.  In the list Rob Hannam and his team covered sustainability, cattle markets and economic volatiliity.  This is the time of the year when we get bombarded by lists or review or prediction but I thought Rob’s list was quite inclusive and similiar to one that I would craft if asked.  In terms of having a handle on what is happening in the global agri-food industry Rob is one of the best so I thought it would be great to expose you to his insight.

According to Rob Hannam and the Synthesis Agri-Food Network Team the eight key trends for 2011 in Canadian Agriculture are:

  • Economic Volatility
  • Green and blue sustainability
  • Mobile technology
  • Upheaval in the livestock sector
  • Canada’s canola crop
  • Connecting with consumers
  • Food recalls
  • Free Trade with the European Union

Rob Hannam is the Owner of Synthesis Agri-Food Network.  I spoke with him about his list of the eight key trends in Canadian Agriculture for 2011. I asked Rob to discuss the top three on his list.   To Subscribe to the Synthesis Agri-Food Network Monthly E-Newsletter, Click Here
