The Impact of Changing Demographics on the Beef Industry - Earl Geddes

by

The global consumer has been evolving as the new consumers get exposed to a beef diet.  Even in Canada, our tastes and preferences around our favorite meal has changed as generations evolve.  Do these changes mean changes for the beef business in Canada or do they really mean a bright future?  For example, as the Chinese become wealthier will beef become a bigger part of their diet.

Known throughout his career as a grainman, Earl Geddes is very passionate about the beef business as well.  Through Earl’s travels around the world he has a very on the ground feel for what consumers are feeling and acting on.

At the Tiffin Conference in Lethbridge, I talked to Earl Geddes about how the changing cattle business is having an impact on the cattle industry in Canada and globally.
