The Possibilities of Precision Agriculture - Jay Bruggencate, Farmers Edge

by

No matter what industry you are involved in, striving for efficiency is critical for lowering costs. If you can gain efficiency and increase productivity you are really achieving a win win. Precision agriculture provides the opportunity to achieve both improved efficiency and increased productivity with the same application. Most of the early focus was on variable rate fertilization but some of the future potential is variable rate seeding and variable rate fungicide application.

There are still some skeptics and rightly so but the potential is very interesting and exciting for farmers that like to be on the cutting edge of farm production.

At Farmech 2011 in Edmonton I discussed the future of Precision agriculture at the Farmers Edge booth with Jay Bruggencate.
