A Closer Look at the Feb 11/12 PRO's - Jon Driedger, FarmLink

by

The new crop PRO’s were released at GrainWorld and the trend still seems to be strong for wheat. In Western Canada wheat acres will be up with the strong competitive prices that are being offered.  Wheat is a good cropping option this year which is one of the reason many analysts are expecting pulse acres to be lower.  When wheat shows profitability many growers would rather grow wheat than some other specialty crop options.

The Pool Return Outlook that is released by the CWB every month continues to creep higher which is keeping farmers interested in CWRS and durum.  Because of the fact that there is a wheat harvest somewhere in the world every month wheat supply and demand is constantly changing and keeping farmers and analysts on their toes.
