Will the Never Ending Winter in Western Canada End Soon? - Drew Lerner

by

Predicting the weather in these parts is hard, predicting it accurately is harder, but delivering that forecast is sometimes the hardest part of all. Nobody likes to be the bearer of bad news. Try being a meteorologist delivering the forecast for “spring” on the prairies.

Drew Lerner runs World Weather Incorporated, a weather information service based out of Topeka, Kansas. Drew’s uncanny accuracy in predicting weather patterns is one of the reasons that his forecast is so sought after. You can tell just from speaking with him that he likes his job. That being said, the one thing he hates about his job is delivering bad news to farmers. Unfortunately for him, his January prediction of a late, cool, moisture filled spring was not what farmers wanted to hear. We caught up with Drew for a “spring” update, and asked him about when “spring” will arrive, will this wet trend ever end, when should we get into the fields and what does summer hold for us?
