Meridian Manufacturing Designs Retrofit AirMax Aeration System

by

Aeration is quickly becoming another important component in most farmers harvest strategy. Weather conditions over the past few years have shown farmers that the window for both seeding and harvesting can be short. With most farms getting bigger, that window can be too short to wait for ideal crop conditions. Leaving the crop in field too long can leave it at the mercy of the weather where germ and overall quality can be negatively affected. That’s where aeration becomes a valuable tool.

Last week I talked to Sid Lockhart of Meridian Manufacturing Group at the Farm Progress Show in Regina, Saskatchewan about their new AirMax Aeration system. The system was designed to retro-fit to existing hopper bottom bins. Lockhart says the demand for retro-fitting existing bins comes from farmers recognizing the value of aeration in contributing to a more valuable crop.
