Canada Celebrates it's Outstanding Young Farmers - Barb Stefanyshyn-Cote

by

RealAgriculture.com was started out of a passion for and a love of agriculture. Since we started, one of our goals here has been to promote an understanding and an appreciation of agriculture and the people involved in it. Farming is one of the most vitally important and under appreciated jobs around, so anytime a farmer gets kudos for a job well done it deserves attention.

Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers program does just that. Starting in Canada in 1979, the program hosts seven regional recognition events where one farming couple from each of those regions is selected to compete nationally. Each year two of those couples are chosen by judges as Canada’s Outstanding Young Farmers. I spoke to Barb Stefanyshyn-Cote about some of the details of the program and why its important for all Canadian Farmers.
