Morris Offers Input Control With a Mechanical Drive System

by

When you’re looking at controlling costs on the farm, the issue of overlapping with seed and fertilizer can be a big one. Especially in crops like canola, over seeding and over application of fertilizer can have a very negative impact on growth and development and end up being very costly for the farmer.

Controlling that flow of seed to prevent over seeding can be tricky as well. Over the years manufacturers have tried to add features to the tanks to help give a greater degree of control to seed distribution out if the tank, but the results had problems of their own. The systems were either overcomplicated or required the farmer to estimate when their meter roller would empty or need to be filled.

Morris Industries looked at all these problems when they developed their input control system. Chief Operating Officer Don Henry says that the result is a product that is both simple and effective. I spoke to him about their new control system and where he thinks variable rate technology like this is headed.  What you will see is that Morris has taken a different engineering design to their input control in comparison to the competition.  Morris has not gone with the slide system but instead has chosen to use a mechanical drive system.
