John DePape Comments on Conservatives Vote to End the CWB Single Desk

With a vote of 153-120 the Conservatives have come through on the one promise that has been hotly debated in many coffee shops across the country.Today’s vote does not end the controversy but it does take some wind out of the sails of the NFU and friends of the CWB.

I discussed todays vote with The CWB Monitor, John De Pape.  I asked John De Pape the following questions:

  • What happens next?
  • What is his impression of today’s vote and its day in history?
  • How does this change how we will remember Gerry Ritz?
  • What is the status of the two court cases that are trying to stop the governments changes
