Farm Forum 11 - The Integrated Digital Farm of the Future - Jeff Thurston

by

Technology is integrating our lives into a hopefully more simplified system. The farm is no exception to this new rule. Data from every sector of the farm can now be collected, stored, analyzed and distributed like no time before in history. With the advent of the data storage cloud and the increasing accessibility of high speed internet, utilizing that data for the benefit of your farm is becoming easier. The future of farming will be the integration of multiple technologies, all communicating with each other, sharing data and responding in kind.  There continues to be significant focus this winter at many of the farm shows about telematics and capturing your farms dataset on the go at any time.  For many of us this seems like a dramatic leap forward but for some it is a closer reality than you would imagine.

Jeff Thurston, Vector 1 Media  is based in Berlin, Germany. He at spoke at Farm Forum 2011 in Saskatoon about the integration of man, machine and data on the future’s digital farm.
