The New Richardson Elevators from the Viterra Deal

Based on the announcement today of the Glencore purchase of Viterra, Richardsons has really solidified their already strong presence in Western Canadian agriculture.

According to the Richardson’s press release:

Richardson’s agreement with Glencore includes the purchase of a 25% ownership interest in Cascadia Terminal (Vancouver), which will allow Richardson to ship increased volumes of grain and oilseeds through that port following the acquisition. Richardson will also acquire a Viterra terminal in Thunder Bay, ON, which will enhance the company’s current operations at that port.

Along with the new port assets, Richardson’s will aquire the ag-retail locations that are adjoined to the grain elevator assets that they will get in the deal. The list of the new Richardson’s eleveator locations are found below.
