Agriculture is an industry that has been misunderstood by those outside of it. It has at times been maligned, caricatured and left a mystery to the people who rely on it the most. A great deal of that has to do with the individuals involved in farming. In general, farmers are a low key group more interested in doing their job and doing it well than being their own cheering section. That humility may be a great character trait, but it doesn’t help to promote awareness and understanding of what is a great and essential industry.
Farm Credit Canada wants to change that. With it’s Agriculture More Than Ever campaign, FCC is not only encouraging farmers to tell their story, but providing the platform for them to do it as well. That campaign kicked into high gear at Canada’s Farm Progress show this week. I spoke to FCC Senior Vice President of Marketing, Lyndon Carlson at the event.
