Pellet Making Made Easy with the Mobile Pellet Mill

by

One of my favourite things about this year’s Farm Progress show was getting to watch live demonstrations of all of the cool equipment and products that manufacturers brought to the show. There is nothing that sells you on a product better than watching that product in action.

One of the really cool things I got to see in action was a mobile pellet mill by Lawson Mills Biomass Solutions. It’s a pelleting mill that can fit into a cargo trailer that operates very efficiently with a fairly decent output and a surprisingly low operating cost. The applications are also extremely varied. At the booth they had samples of everything from pelleted alfalfa to coconut husk to horse manure.

I watched the mill go to work on some alfalfa squares courtesy of a demonstration by one of the people behind the mill, Paul Lawson.
