Usually producers talk about buying equipment in the US when the Canadian Dollar swings above par. This time though the deals on US based farm machinery are being driven by the severe US drought. With the US corn and soybean harvest looking very poor in comparison to prior years, US farm machinery dealers have a major task to sell inventory numbers that were based on strong yields back in the spring.

We were not able to contact any US dealers myself but the farmer anecdotes all seem to be telling the same story. Its a great time for Canadian farmers to find some great deals from US machinery dealers if are willing to call around. One of the equipment pieces I keep hearing about great deals on is grain carts.
