Mixing Cover Crops to Suit Your Needs

Whatever your reason for planting a cover crop — for ground cover, for grazing or putting up feed or for N capture — there’s a long list of options. Add in the choice of a second, third or more species and the combinations are endless. Planting two or more species may provide expanded options for cover crop use and can offer significant benefits to your soil’s biological diversity and structure.

In this last of three videos on the cover crop demonstration at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, Christine Brown walks us through some typical cover crop mixes and some not-so-typical, including a “kitchen sink” mix.
