John Deere Precision Farming Set Up Eliminates Need for Added Tower

by

If one-inch pass-to-pass accuracy is your goal when it comes to precision farming, you’re going to need more than a basic guidance system to get there. That said, creating an extremely accurate guidance system for all equipment can require several components, including extra receivers and RTK towers. Each component is going to cost you, so choosing the right set up is key.

In this video, RealAgriculture’s Lyndsey Smith tracked down Cole Miller, based at Iowa with John Deere, at this year’s Crop Production Show to talk about John Deere’s SF3000 receiver and how the set up eliminates the need for an RTK base station. Cole also offers some tips on developing a guidance system and shares his thoughts on what he thinks will be the next big thing in precision agriculture.
