Agriculture in India Via the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program

by

Perspective is the lens that will focus your decision making process. Whether it’s big picture “industry as a whole” type thinking or an individual “I’m really happy to have running water” type of gratitude, an understanding of perspective is important. When you’re bringing two different cultures together, that understanding can help avoid some unintended disasters.

A new perspective is one of the things Wayne Black gained when he journeyed to India from Ontario through the Advanced Agricultural Leadership Program. The trip opened his eyes to a lot of the hidden difficulties in cross-cultural relations, especially concerning the sharing of agricultural technologies and different methods of farming. In this interview, Black talks about the benefits of AALP and how it’s shown him that it’s more than just geography that makes Indian agriculture different from Ontario agriculture. RealAgriculture’s Bernard Tobin caught up with Wayne at the Western Fair Farm Show in London, Ontario.
