CCGA Accepting Early Applications for Pre-Harvest Cash Advance

by

As of Monday, March 4, 2013, the Canadian Canola Growers Association (CCGA) is accepting cash advance applications for the 2013-14 Advanced Payments Program (APP).

“This is the third year that we have accepted applications ahead of the April 1st program start date,” says Rick White, General Manager of CCGA.  “By doing so, we provide farmers time to complete their cash advance applications before the busy field season begins.  Also, the early submission date gives CCGA the opportunity to review pre-applications and correct any errors or missing information, so that more farmers receive their advance when the program starts on April 1st.”

CCGA issues cash advances for 25 commodities including cereal grains, oilseeds, pulse crops and other specialty crops across the four western provinces. Through the APP, farmers are eligible for a cash advance of up to $100,000 interest-free and an additional $300,000 at CIBC prime, which is currently at 3%.

Farmers wanting to know more about the advance application requirements are encouraged to check out CCGA’s website at www.ccga.ca or call CCGA’s information line at 1-866-745-2256. Farmers can apply immediately by starting an application over the telephone or by downloading an application form from the website.  Application forms will also be available at many elevators and grain buyers beginning this week.
