Get With the Plan! It’s Farm Safety Week

Do you value safety on your farm? Of course! Do you have a simple, straight-forward health and safety plan for your farm? Likely not.

Each year in mid-March, the Canadian Agricultural Safety Association, the Canadian Federation of Agriculture and Farm Credit Canada team up to promote and celebrate Canadian Agricultural Safety Week. This year’s push is to have more farmers “Get with the Plan” — a farm safety plan, that is.

Ag Saftey Week’s website has a FarmSafe template available that can be easily tailored to every farm’s needs in developing a farm safety plan. A written plan is important as it aids in identifying hazards, outlines ways and means to mange them and mitigate risk and includes important emergency information and so much more.

So get with the plan, and make this year the year you commit to farm safety!
