Flea Beetles, Cutworms Have New Enemy in Lumiderm Seed Treatment

by

DuPont announced today that Canada’s Pest Management Regulatory Agency (PMRA) has granted approval for the registration of Lumiderm insecticide seed treatment.

DuPont Lumiderm insecticide is a new seed treatment product for canola growers containing the active ingredient cyantraniliprole, a Group 28, anthranilic diamide insecticide that provides early season control of flea beetles, both striped and crucifer, and cutworms.

According to a company press release, Lumiderm is the first seed treatment that controls both flea beetles and cutworms in canola. Lisa Power, Lumiderm seed treatment manager, said in the release: “It is an excellent seed treatment advancement, providing growers’ peace of mind on their high-valued canola crop during the critical growth period. The canola seedlings respond really well and show exceptional plant health at the early stages of growth due to the reduction of crop stress caused by insects up to 28 to 35 days after planting.”
