Anne Wasko and Shaun Haney discuss the latest in the Canadian cattle and beef industry.  Last week fed prices were positive which put a smile on the face of feed yeard owners but the corn market raced higher on Monday which seemed to circumvent the better mood.

The issue has been the anecdotal calf losses on prairie ranches due to the snowy winter weather in late April.   As Anne mentions in this episode there are no historical numbers to  reference but the winter weather has been quite untimely.  You can see some of this weeks wintery pics posted by farmers on twitter here.

This weeks Canadian Beef Market Update is brought to you by the Saskatchewan Stock Growers.  This year is the 100th AGM of the SSGA and you can find out about the AGM in Moose Jaw June 9-11 by going to SkStockGrowers.com
