Corn School: Prepping Your Planter for Storage

by

As planting season winds down, the To-Do list of little fixes starts to grow. The good news is that a little extra care and attention paid to machinery and equipment now will help speed along the set up process next spring when we get to do this all over again.

The planter is such an invaluable tool on the modern farm, but its true value hinges on precision — as parts start to wear, warp or crack that precision breaks down. In this Corn School episode, Matt Roberts, with Case IH, walks us step-by-step through disassembling a row-unit and points out each part and point to check for signs of wear or damage. He also offers a few time-saving tips to ensure that next spring’s roll out also goes smoothly.
