ILC 2013 - Meet The Youngest Executive Producer in the Ag Media Business

by

A couple weeks ago at the International Livestock Congress I took the opportunity to have my 9 year old daughter join me for the day.  I expected her to sit in the corner of the room and play on her ipod all day but instead she naturally asked for a media pass and volunteered for the important role of  executive producer.  At one point she expressed her displeasure for having to wait so long between interviews and wanted to know why were off the intended schedule.

She ran the camera all day and did a great job, even correcting a couple times to fix the focus on the camera lens and make sure that the mics were turned on.  A very special thank you to Iris Meck and Chantelle Andrukow for making sure Rylynn had lunch and received her very special media pass.

At the end of the day it was Rylynn’s turn to be interviewed.  We discussed what she liked most about the day and what were some of the take home thoughts of the 2013 edition of the International Livestock Congress.  I especially enjoyed her analysis of why her dad’s job is so hard.  Some very honest cute feedback.

It was a very special father daughter kind of day for sure.
