RealAg Crop Update: Full Flower Soybeans & Fungicide Decisions on Corn

by

In this RealAg Crop Update Ontario, Shawn Brenneman, agronomic sales manager for Eastern Canada with Syngenta, takes us on a virtual tour of a large swath of the eastern Canadian growing region to talk about corn and soybean crop development.

While early season conditions weren’t ideal for corn and soy, recent heat has corn moving through its reproductive phase. Brenneman discusses fungicide considerations at this time, as well as soil moisture conditions in to late summer. The soybean crop is in to full flower in some areas, with pin beans starting to show up. Brenneman notes how to protect maximum yield at this point in the soybean growth cycle, and why farmers should be out scouting for soybean aphid.
