A Look Back at the Beginning of Canada's Outdoor Farm Show

by

Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show is celebrating its 20th show this year, and what better way to explore what the show has to offer than to look back at how the show started many years ago.

From humble beginnings at a small site just south of the 401 and only a few hundred exhibitors, the show has grown significantly and now welcomes over 40,000 visitors and more than 700 exhibitors each year. A blend of trade show and outdoor proving ground, the Woodstock-area show is now know for its on-site demos of not only new crop genetics but also various types of machinery. In this video, Doug Wagner, president of Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show, relates the discussions between him and show founder Ginty Jocius in those first years, and walks through the evolution of the show to its present scale.
