Versatile's ML950 Features ALIVE Technology

by

Versatile unveiled the ML series air drills in 2012. These drills features technology that incorporates: “Accurate seed placement with Level, Independent openers for uncompromised Vertical Emergence of crops,” or, “ALIVE” technology.

The drills focus on providing an accurate and consistent seed placement based on the angle of the parallel linkage on the gauge wheels compared to the linkage on the openers beside it. In fact, the drill reads and readjusts every two seconds, based on these comparisons.

“So rather than being obsessive about packing pressure,” explains explains  Trevor Jubenville, product manager at Buhler Industries, “we’re using packing pressure — packing force — as a tool to make sure that the operator gets the exact seed placement that he said he wanted.”

In this video, Jubenville walks us through the ALIVE technology on the ML950, explaining further the consistent seed-depth, packing pressure and the operator-friendly control features. Oh, and did we mention that it does all this without the need for a hydraulic cylinder on each shank?
