New Holland T9 '14 SmartTrax Designed to Tread Lightly, Offer Big Power

by

Farmers looking at the 2014 T9 New Holland tractors may now choose the redesigned SmartTrax feature. These wide, lighter and more cost-effective tracks offer a few changes over the last iteration.

As Gary Wojcik, with New Holland explains in this video from the Farm Progress Show at Decatur, Illinois, New Holland’s design team has moved the accumulator on the track and offers a high idler version vs. the triangle version, allowing the tractor to climb and work in more conditions. The T9 SmartTrax features increased pulling power but with less compaciton with its 36″ track, Wojcik says.

Beyond the track system, the ’14 T9s also feature a comfort ride cab for a smooth ride, and all of New Holland’s high horsepower tractors feature a new larger SCR canister system that exceeds the Tier 4 B (final) regulations. Wojcik explains how the new EcoBlue engine has been updated to meet the new standard, and explains some of the tweaks to the ’14 models specifically. All that and more in the video below.
