Corn School: Top Ten Corn Production Tips, Part 1

What’s the best call for adding potash? How much bang for your buck do you get from seed-placed blends? Are protected N sources worth the cost? Greg Stewart, corn specialist with the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Food, recently presented the top 10 corn production tips from 10 years of research and monitoring, and some of the findings may surprise you.

In this first of two videos, Stewart runs through each of the top 10 tips he and his colleagues gleaned from reams of data. From identifying which fields must receive a potash application, to choosing an in-furrow fertility blend and from, to strategizing split applications of N, Stewart summarizes his presentation from the recent Southwest Agricultural Conference held at Ridgetown, On.
