“We need strong, vibrant journalists investigating and sharing agriculture’s greatest stories, so we are proud to support talented messengers such as Debra,” said Dr. Pearse Lyons, president and founder of Alltech, in a press release issued Tuesday.

“Almost 80 young journalists have honed their talent through this program, which is now in its ninth year,” said Riitta Mustonen, IFAJ secretary general and competition coordinator. “The fact that we have witnessed continuous winners from Canada is a sign of the passion we have for agricultural journalism and the strength of the industry as a whole in this country.”

Debra will be reporting live from the event in early September.
