The Return of the Agriculture Excellence Conference

by

Farm Management Canada (FMC) is bringing back its annual Agricultural Excellence Conference, starting in Winnipeg, November 19-21 2014.

The Agricultural Excellence Conference is focused on bringing diverse industry experts and stakeholders together from across disciplines, regions and commodity sectors to share and explore beneficial farm management practices, advice, and insight with leading farm business thinkers, says FMC.

Farmers, advisors, academics, organizations, corporations and government will descend on Winnipeg to discuss today’s hot topics related to managing Canada’s farms for success.

“We are so pleased to be bringing this opportunity back to Canada’s farmers and industry stakeholders,” says Heather Watson, FMC Executive Director, “a chance for a national conversation to reflect on priorities, exchange expertise and experience and find the best ways of working together so that Canada’s farmers remain competitive.”

Supported by FMC’s current Risky Business campaign, the 2014 conference theme, Farming in Transition: Embracing Change, highlights the importance of having the knowledge, skills and tools to seek out, assess and take advantage of opportunities to succeed within the changing global marketplace. Top notch speakers and interactive learning sessions will assist Canada’s farmers in making informed decisions and taking calculated risks that both mitigate negative impacts while maximizing potential rewards.

Innovative aspects of the agenda include: a moderated debate, sponsor invitee dinner and the National Farm Business Innovation Roundtable.
Farmers are encouraged to look to their Provincial/Territorial Ministries of Agriculture for information on cost-share funding opportunities to attend the Conference. Manitoban farmers can turn to Manitoba Agriculture, Food and Rural Development (MAFRD).
