Whether you’re looking to make a great ration, improve livestock bedding or feed the cellulose ethanol industry, John Deere says you need to check out its new L340 large square baler.
Jeremy Unruh, John Deere’s baling and mowing product line manager, gave us a tour of the new balers at the Farm Progress Show last month in Iowa. The balers are designed with two working widths, 83-inch for the L330 and 90-inch for the L340. Unruh explains that the exclusive John Deere double tie knotter system is designed to maintain the integrity of high-density bales and is protected by a blower system to keep the knotters free of debris.
Hydraulically controlled bale density as well as a wide pick up moves the crop efficiently through the baler; while the packer-stuffer system helps make well-shaped bales that hold their shape, improve logistics and also increase bale handling and stacking efficiency.
