Canadian farmers can expect to see the new Fendt 700 series tractors on dealer lots in January 2015.
At the recent Farm Progress Show in Boone, Iowa, Conor Bergin, AGCO’s product marketing manager for high horsepower tractors gave RealAgriculture.com a tour of the new tractor, the only one currently in North America.
The new Fendt is all about versatility, says Bergin. Models range from 110 to 195 PTO horsepower and will fit a lot of different farm needs, including light to medium tillage work, smaller air seeders or six to 16 row planters as well as round and square balers.
The 700 series comes equipped with an all new CargoProfi loader, which provides memory settings that allow the operator to program the height of repeat operations such as loading a TMR mixer. A new vibration function also allows for quick and easy bucket unloading.
A sleeker cab design features a new colour touchscreen monitor and there’s also increased hydraulic capacity, including an optional 54 gallon per minute pump for ample hydraulic power. A new LED lighting package offers increased night visibility, and farmers now have a range of tire options. For example, row crop dual tire configurations can be ordered directly from the factory.
