Limiting Draft on Wide Models & Improved Trash Clearance Featured on the 2015 Morris Razr Drill

by

It’s rare that a new product doesn’t see at least some tweaks within the first few years of it being used in real-world conditions. Following on the heels of last year’s successful launch of the Morris Razr drill, Real Agriculture’s Debra Murphy caught up at Canada’s Farm Progress Show with Don Henry, of Morris Industries, to talk about what’s new and improved on the drill for 2015.

Henry notes that those looking at the Razr may notice an updated scraper system to keep mud to a minimum and tidied up openers to limit any catch points on the ground unit. What’s more, those ordering the drill in the 40? and 50? lengths have the option of using an inter-row fertilizer set up, however those with an eye on the 60? model may not, as Henry says the company is trying to limit added weight at these wide widths.

And speaking of draft, available in 7.5?, 10? and 15? row spacing, the Morris drill will require roughly 4-6 horsepower per foot to pull it, depending on your soil type and topography and desired seeding speed, says Henry. Check out the video for more details.
