Beef Market Update: Can you Bank on this Strong Start Continuing?

If the first two weeks of 2015 are any indication for the rest of the year, volatility in cattle markets is the name of the game. From steep drops to quick run-ups yet again, the U.S. cash market and the wholesale side has already shown some real movement. The big questions for cattle producers and feeders going forward is, will the amazing ride of 2014 be repeated?

In a word — unlikely,  says Anne Wasko, of Gateway Livestock. In this latest edition of the Beef Market Update, Wasko brings us up to date on the cattle markets so far in ’15, with a nod to some anomalies in cull cow market prices, to some big questions on sustained demand at the retail level.
