In 2015, AGCO Corporation will be offering its Certified Pre-Owned (CPO) Program to dealerships across North America.
“Farmers are savvy businesspeople, and particularly in a down market, they are squeezed to maximize their net profit,” said Eric Lescourret, AGCO director of commercial strategic initiatives, in a release. “Key areas of focus for farmers are capital expense and the purchase or lease of more fuel-efficient and productive equipment. AGCO was the first agriculture equipment manufacturer to stand behind equipment with a certified pre-owned program, beginning with pilot dealers, starting in 2013.”
In order to become certified, machinery must first be eligible, with specific requirements on age and hours used.
As part of the program, eligible equipment will go through an elaborate inspection, with tractors and windrowers inspected at over 100 points, large square balers at over 160 points and combines at over 200 points. Upon conclusion of the inspection, the machinery is reconditioned and offered for purchase with comprehensive extended-service coverage of at least one year.
An inventory of AGCO CPO equipment in North America is available online.
