Reflecting the explosion in soybean acres in the province over the last few years, the Manitoba Pulse Growers Association announced a change to its name during its annual general meeting at the Crop Connect Conference in Winnipeg.

Going forward, the group will now be known as Manitoba Pulse and Soybean Growers.

“Our organization has evolved since its early beginnings in 1984,” said Kyle Friesen, president of MPSG. “We’ve learned to change, grow, and adapt as our industry has changed. The next 30 years will be no different and our new name and logo will help position us for the future.”

As part of the above interview, executive director Francois Labelle explains why they decided to tweak the name, and how MPSG already has a long history of investing in soybeans.
