The display is a 12.1? high-definition color touch-screen, and this year, Trimble announced the TMX-2050 will have the ability to support third party applications.

“Today, and within the last week, that’s been our biggest release that we’ve been talking about,” Trimble Navigation’s Stephanie Michaud told Shaun Haney at the National Farm Machinery Show (NFMS). “We’re really harnessing the Android capability and allowing our re-sellers to develop their own customizable applications for the display.”

The TMX-2050 uses an Android-based operating system, and allows instant access to Connected Farm. Right from the tractor, producers can access weather, commodity prices and flight management. In addition, the information is stored on the cloud, limiting the need to avoid dropping a USB in dirt.
