NAB & NMX: What Happens in Vegas

by

A little over two weeks ago, RealAgriculture’s Debra Murphy and Jason Stroeve hit the sunny streets of Las Vegas to take in the National Association of Broadcaster’s Show and New Media Expo. This was the first year the two shows combined, and with over 100,000 attendees and 1,700 companies crammed into 1,000,000 square feet of show floor, it was a hive of activity. For Jason and Debra, the four days meant sore feet, feeling perpetually cold and overindulging in sushi. It also meant attending some very inspiring sessions and meeting some great people. Here are a few take-aways from their time at the strip, NMX, and NAB:

  • Friendships come from self-revelation. – @ErikPodcast
  • You can’t be more conservative than your readers. – @Griner, on good headlines
  • You can order rare hamburgers in Vegas.
  • With the right amount of enthusiasm and commitment, you can drive into your keynote presentation in the DeLorean from Back to the Future. No big deal, @PatFlynn.
  • People don’t share audio, they share conversation about audio. – @markramseymedia
  • World Domination Summit is a real thing. No, really. Check it out.
  • In Las Vegas, you can trial any outfit you’ve ever had a dream (or nightmare) of wearing in public.
