John Deere’s new R4023 is set to hit the stage, replacing the 4630 in the 4 Series lineup. The machine weighs in at a little over 18, 000 lbs, with a 600 gallon (2300L) tank and a 60 or 80′ boom. And though it may be smaller than most of its counterparts, it’s no weakling, delivering 173HP from its 4.5L engine (which also meets Final Tier IV emission requirements) — a 5% boost in power over the previous model, and reduced fuel usage to boot.
“With ever increasing demands on producers and service providers to cover fields quickly during short application windows, the R4023 Sprayer was designed to provide improved ride quality, operator comfort and productivity across a wide variety of field conditions and cropping systems,” said Dave Mulder, product line manager for John Deere application equipment, in a release.
