There’s an incredible amount of demand for quality forage both within Canada and in international markets. Even still, the forage and grassland industry hasn’t always been a top priority for research, extension or market development in Canada. A few years ago, the Canadian Forage and Grassland Association was created to help remedy that problem.
Cedric MacLeod is leading the CFGA as its new executive director, and RealAgriculture’s editor, Lyndsey Smith, caught up with him in the middle of an eastern Ontario hay field to talk forages, export opportunities and more.
From who and what the CFGA is, to what the opportunities are for both pasture and hay, and the ever-expanding export markets for Canadian forage products, MacLeod explains what’s next for the industry in the video below.
