Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down: Have You Caught “Jays Fever”?

They’re being called “Canada’s Team” again, pushing for the American League (AL) East title for the first time since 1993.

After starting the season with some disappointing injuries, the Jays have pulled off one of the better records in Major League Baseball, to the delight of fans across Canada.

It’s hard to say what helped the team most: the off-season acquisition of Donaldson and his MVP-calibre season, the addition of Tulo at shortstop, or the confidence boost from putting Price at the front of the starting rotation. With all of the excitement surrounding the Jays’ success, many Canadians who are otherwise not fans of the sport are following the team (see their slogan #ComeTogether.) Blue Jays merchandise sales and television ratings have skyrocketed. Vice News even published a rather welcoming article entitled A Guide to Jumping on the Blue Jays Wagon.

And that brings us to this week’s Thumbs Up, Thumbs Down question: Have you caught Jays fever?
