New Holland has upped the ante on its Forage Cruiser line for model year 2016. The line has five models, with the smallest (the FR480) listed at 476hp and the top model (FR850) at 824hp.
The line has seen the replacement of the engines in the smaller models, now Tier 4B compliant with ECOBlue He-eSCR technology. The FR850 retains the Tier 2 compliant, 20.1L engine.
The cutter head features the chevron knife design, available with 2×8, 2×10 and 2×12 knives for a length of cut range of 6 to 33 mm, 5 to 27 mm and 4 to 22 mm, respectively.
In this video, filmed at Big Iron, John Bender, forage sales specialist with New Holland Agriculture, gives us a tour of FR780, replacing the FR700.
Changes to the spout have meant the inclusion of full-length replaceable top and side liners, a new hard-faced flipper, stronger flipper cylinder and improved base lubrication. And let’s not forget the Intellifill spout guidance system. Automated trailer filling. Making staying up to date on Twitter so much easier.
The cab has also seen some improvements, with more lights and interior space, an air-suspended seat with automatic weight adjustment and luxury heated and ventilated seat upgrades.
New Cruisers are now being manufactured in Belgium and will be available starting in December.
