Fendt 500 Tractor Packs Big Features Into Smaller Package

by

Fendt fans will experience a unique combination of high performance and compact design when they climb into the cab of the new Fendt 500 Vario tractor.

The German-engineered tractor integrates a range of features and innovations previously seen on Fendt’s higher-horsepower offerings into the 500 series of 125 to 165 HP tractors. “This is all the technology and innovation that Fendt would offer in a 700 series tractor, but it comes in a smaller package,” explains AGCO senior marketing specialist John Slama, who took Real Agriculture on a tour of the tractor at Canada’s Outdoor Farm Show. “The 500 is going to be a little shorter and narrower than the 700, but there are a lot of similarities.”

Familiar features farmers will see on the 500 series tractors include the Varioterminal, which uniquely brings all tractor and implement controls together in one terminal, eliminating the need for additional monitors. The Varioterminal also comes with additional features such as the VarioGuide automatic steering system, camera function, VarioDoc documentation system, SectionControl and Variotronic, which gives the operator one-touch control of automated operations.

The Fendt 500’s VisioPlus Cab curves up into the roof and offers nearly 65 square feet of glass for optimal vision. This includes an unobstructed view of the front wheels, as well as 320 degrees of horizontal visibility.

The tractor is also fast and agile and boasts a road speed of up to 50 km/h. Chores around the farm are made easier with the Fendt CargoProfi Loader, which comes with a memo function for saving loader arm positions for specific farm tasks.
