Those last two letters on the end of @ChrisLaneCBC‘s twitter handle might soon be changing. Canadian Western Agribition (CWA) today announced that Lane has been appointed as the new chief executive officer for the show.
“On behalf of the board, we are pleased to welcome Chris to the CWA team,” CWA president, Stewart Stone, said in a release. “He brings a great mix of leadership, communications, and community involvement.”

Lane grew up in Grande Prairie, Alberta, later attending the University of Alberta, and ultimately graduating from the University of Regina with a degree in journalism and communications. He has lived in Edmonton, Calgary and Charlottetown, but has spent the last six years in Regina. He previously worked as a senior producer at the CBC.
“I am excited to join an organization that has such a strong footprint in the community and passion for the industry,” Lane said.
Lane will begin his new role, as CEO of Agribition, effective July 4.
